Clubs and Organizations

The Lathrop Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to join the ranks of several outstanding clubs and organizations, including the Lathrop Festival Corporation, Lathrop Antique Car Club, youth baseball/softball, soccer, youth wrestling, and basketball programs, along with a strong Scout an 4-H program. Civic organizations include the Lathrop Rotary Club, Lathrop Garden Club, American Legion Post #467, and the Lathrop Masonic Lodge.

Lathrop R-II School District

Lathrop R-II provides an excellent setting for children of all ages. The Lathrop R-II School District has achieved Distinction in Performance, and is supported by a community that voted to build a new high school in 2008. Our Parents As Teachers program is one of the most highly saturated programs in the State of Missouri. High school athletes compete in football, volleyball, softball, basketball, wrestling, track, cross country, and golf for boys and girls. Cheer, dance, flag corps, band and academic bowl teams also compete at various levels.

City of Lathrop

City of Lathrop has outstanding utilities, including Kansas City water, AmerenUE (inside city limits) and Platte-Clay Electric Co-op (outside city limits), Missouri Gas Energy natural gas service, and state-of-the-art Fiber Optics To The Home (FTTH) from Grand River Mutual/Lathrop Telephone Company.

Clinton County Economic Development

The Economic Development Council of Clinton County was formed in 20xx to attract businesses to the area. Lathrop and Clinton County hosts excellent opportunities for businesses to locate, warm and inviting communities, excellent schools, and close proximity to KCI Airport and major highways.

Churches

The Lathrop area is home to several churches, including First Baptist Church, United Methodist church, First Christian Church, First Assembly of God, Turney churches, and the Catholic Church in Plattsburg.
